Raccoon Damage Roof Repair

Repairing raccoon damage, closing an exposed roof cavity, and improving bathroom exhaust venting.

Raccoon damage left torn shingles and exposed roof sheathing.
Location
Westview, North Vancouver
Project
Raccoon damage repair
Scope
Roofing, siding & exhaust venting

The problem

Raccoons had torn away shingles and waterproofing above the entrance, exposing the roof sheathing. The sheltered cavity beneath the upper roof offered continued animal access, and an existing exhaust outlet needed to be relocated before the space could be enclosed.

The solution

We repaired the damaged roofing and enclosed the cavity with a framed, sheathed wall, weather-resistant paper, and matching painted siding. New flashing tied the enclosure into the shingles, while bathroom exhausts were rerouted through roof vents with insulated ducting.
